Part 8:Saving
and Opening Files
- Important! Have you
saved
your work yet? If not, then open the File menu and choose Save As.
Select an appropriate directory and file name, so you will know where
your
work is and be able to find it later. (After you have named the
worksheet
the way you want to, you can use Save without specifying the
name
again.)
- To make sure you did
the
Save As correctly, Exit Maple now (also on the File menu). If
you
have not actually saved your work yet, Maple will object and give you
another
chance to save.
- Now restart Maple.
If you need to remember what a blank Maple document should look like, return to the Contents
page, re-read the information there, and then select Part 8 (this part).
- Use Open on
the
File menu to re-open the worksheet you just saved. The worksheet will
show
all the changes and evaluations made up to this point, but nothing will
be in Maple's memory! For example, the function f defined in Part 6 will
have no expression assigned to it. Re-enter all the lines that assign
values
or expressions to symbols.
- The most frequently
used
File commands also have buttons on the tool bar at the top of the page:
New, Open, Save, Print. Practice using the buttons.
