Notebooks and Cells
Mathematica
notebooks consist of sequences of cells. The various kinds of cells
are listed in the Style submenu of the Format menu.
- Move the pointer
until it becomes a horizontal I-beam. Then click. A cell insertion
bar will appear. Type some text. It will appear in a new cell. By
default, new cells are Mathematica input cells.
- You can put more
than one line in the same cell. Enter
2^3
and press
RETURN. (Don't press SHIFT yet!) Now enter
8^(1/3)
and press SHIFT-RETURN. Both expressions in the cell will be
evaluated.
