Use Graphics To Supplement Non-Visual Information

There is a qualitative difference between the processing of information in the left brain (which generally considers text) and the right brain (which generally considers images). New material is processed and understood most effectively when it is given a number of different representations. Graphics can be used to add mental dimensions to:

   Descriptions of real-world or imaginary settings.
   Descriptions of complex relationships.
   Numerical data.
   Requests for reader interaction.
