The University originally occupied a very English quadrangle campus near the center of Christchurch (now the Arts Centre), but moved to a suburban location when it outgrew the original campus. The architecture of the current campus is undistinguished, with the exception of the building housing Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science. The landscaping, on the other hand, manages to make the campus quite pleasant. The first few pictures show some of the landscaping around the Central Library.

And this is our home away from home, University transit housing on the edge of campus -- front, back, back fence, lane to the street, and interior, with Dorothy displaying one of several lap robes she knitted for the Frontier Nursing Service in Kentucky.
Our host family, the Hannahs, live outside Christchurch in Rangiora. These pictures were taken at their house at our going-away dinner our last night in Christchurch.
